Therefore, humble yourselves under the mighty hand of God [set aside self-righteous pride], so that He may exalt you [to a place of honor in His service] at the appropriate time. 1 Peter 5:6 (Amp.) The way up is to humble yourself before God. Set aside your pride and selfish ambitions in order to be exalted by God. Don’t just strive for position or status, truly seek to be the hands and feet of God. As you strive to get ahead in life, don’t forget humility goes a long way. When we humble ourselves before God, we desire for our will to align with His will for us. We treat others as we would want to be treated and we don’t walk around with a haughty attitude. When you humble yourself before God with your heart, mind and soul, He will elevate you at the appointed time. Avoid being impatient or moving ahead in haste.
