Fill My Heart Lord
Let the peace of Christ rule in your hearts, since as members of one body you were called to peace. And be thankful. Col 3:15 (NIV) What exactly does it mean to let the peace of Christ rule in our hearts? Perhaps it calls for us to push aside our flesh and let the Spirit reign. Unforgiveness, anger, resentment, revenge and all other unfruitful responses cannot occupy the place in our heart that should be filled with agape love. Yes, we are human and may have certain emotional responses that we are not often proud of. However, don’t let these emotions and responses take over to the point where we are no longer able to operate in the love of God. Be very careful what you allow to consume you. Keep peace at the forefront of your heart and mind. Let the love of God flow in you and through you. Let His love be exemplified in you until it brings people together. When the love of God is the driving force in our hearts, peace and unity is nurtured and cultivated. When we operate from a place of gratitude there’s no place for a bitter attitude. When we love with true sincerity, we become bound by all that is good and fruitful rather than torn apart by all that works to oppose positive growth. Reject all that is used as a tool to divide and strive towards all that brings us together. Let’s go and grow together. ADaubon
