Now the mind of the flesh is death [both now and forever—because it pursues sin]; but the mind of the Spirit is life and peace [the spiritual well-being that comes from walking with God—both now and forever]; the mind of the flesh [with its sinful pursuits] is actively hostile to God. It does not submit itself to God’s law, since it cannot,and those who are in the flesh [living a life that caters to sinful appetites and impulses] cannot please God. Romans 8:6-8 (Amp.) Every minute of the day we have to make a choice to either follow our flesh or our Spirit. While the flesh may be enticed and tempted on a regular bases we must not succumb to temporary pleasures. The cost of such compromise is not worth forfeiting the assignment God has for you. Beware of all that attempts to lure you down a path that will set you off track. Adhere to the Spirit of God that dwells within you and follow the leading of the Lord. The Holy Spirit will alert, direct, and correct you.
