A friend loves at all times, and kinsfolk are born to share adversity. Prov. 17:17 (NRSV) Relationships can be challenging at times. There will be seasons when close relationships are tested by conflict, misunderstandings, and challenges. A true connection can weather these storms and come through them stronger than before. Don’t let hardship tear down your relationships with others. Be willing to build and grow in your relationships. Don’t seek perfection in others over peace with them.

Let patience, grace and forgiveness be the glue that bonds you together. Allow the unconditional love of God be the sealant that keeps you committed. Cherish those whom God has placed in your life. Be the friend that you desire and appreciate the ones you have. Be willing to step out and establish new connections. Be filled with God’s love and let it flow through you to love others. Push beyond your protective barriers to allow yourself to authentically establish friendships and relationships that go beyond the surface.
