The Lord is near to the brokenhearted, and saves the crushed in spirit. Psalm 34:18 (NRSV) We will have ups and downs in life, but through it all God goes before us, stands beside us and catches us when we fall. There is hope for us when we are experiencing grief, loss, extreme disappointment or difficulties that weigh heavy on our heart. God’s word promises us that in our darkest times He is ever-present. When we are at our lowest points, He uplifts us. His love surrounds us and His mercy comforts us. God’s presence is a shield that encompasses us. If you feel alone today and think no-one understands what you are going through, find comfort in knowing you are not forsaken. He will provide you with the love and care that you need. He will save you from the pit of despair and give you the strength to keep moving forward. Don’t give up and don’t throw in the towel. You are not forgotten; the Lord is near.
