Total Surrender

Search me, O God, and know my heart; test me and know my thoughts. See if there is any wicked way in me, and lead me in the way everlasting. Psalms 139:23-24 (NRSV) When we totally surrender to God we will desire to be in complete alignment with Him. God is all knowing, but it is a sign of humility when you ask God to examine you and lead you away from all activities and thoughts that are not like Him. While we have free will, it pleases God when our will is bent towards Him. As we meditate on the verse of the week, consider asking God to search you and identify everything in your life that is not like Him and follow Him towards the path of righteousness. Give Him your heart, not just with words, but your actions. If your heart is sincerely devoted to God, your demeanor will reflect Him. We are all a work in progress, so keep your heart open and vulnerable to the steering of God. Stay the course and remain in Him. There is no better place to be than in the will of God.
