Monday Meditation

People can tame all kinds of animals, birds, reptiles, and fish, but no one can tame the tongue. It is restless and evil, full of deadly poison.  Sometimes it praises our Lord and Father, and sometimes it curses those who have been made in the image of God.  And so blessing and cursing come pouring out of the same mouth. Surely, my brothers and sisters, this is not right! James 3:7-10 (NLT) Often we don’t realize how powerful our words are. No matter how strong you think you are, real strength is displayed when you are able to bridle your tongue. No matter how wise you consider yourself, true wisdom knows when to speak and when to be quiet. Do not be easily provoked and avoid inciting others. If you are angry take the time you need to approach a conversation with respect and in love. Sometimes it is not what you say, but how you say it. Some things just don’t need to be said at all. May God give you discernment. Strive to be emotionally healthy, because our words reflect what is in our heart. May your heart and your words be filled with the love of God. Let’s go and grow together. ADaubon
