Monday Meditation

Total Surrender

Search me, O God, and know my heart; test me and know my thoughts. See if there is any wicked way in me, and lead me in the way everlasting. Psalms 139:23-24 (NRSV) When we totally surrender to God we will desire to be in complete alignment with Him. God is all knowing, but it is a sign of humility when you ask God to examine you and lead you away from all activities and thoughts that are not like Him. While we have free will, it pleases God when our will is bent towards Him. As we meditate on the verse of the week, consider asking God to search you and identify everything in your life that is not like Him and follow Him towards the path of righteousness. Give Him your heart, not just with words, but your actions. If your heart is sincerely devoted to God, your demeanor will reflect Him. We are all a work in progress, so keep your heart open and vulnerable to the steering of God. Stay the course and remain in Him. There is no better place to be than in the will of God. Let’s go and grow together. ADaubon

Monday Meditation

But God proves his love for us in that while we still were sinners Christ died for us. Romans 5:8 (NRSV) For all those who feel unloved, be encouraged God loves you dearly. If anyone is confused as to what love looks like, find awe in the way God loves you and others. For anyone who feels unworthy of God’s love, find comfort in knowing God loves you just as you are. His unconditional love for us is not determined by our actions, but rather the action of Christ dying on the cross. As we reminisce on what God did to prove his love for us, consider how you can display your love for him. Once you’ve discovered the many ways to show your appreciation for God’s love, be intentional and consistent in living it out. Let’s go and grow together. ADaubon

Monday Meditation

The Lord directs the steps of the godly. He delights in every detail of their lives. Though they stumble, they will never fall, for the Lord holds them by the hand. Psalm 37:23-24 (NLT) As we go through life there will be times when we are not clear on what to do next. Find comfort in knowing, God has a plan and a specific path for you to travel. As you search for answers and clarity, consider following the path God has laid before you. It may take you out of your comfort zone, go anyway. It may lead you through uncharted waters, step out on faith. Not everyone will support you, let God be your reinforcement. You may think you are not prepared, believe that God has equipped you. As you meditate on the verse of the week, ask yourself if you are truly moving forward on the path God has ordained for you or have you gone rogue? Seek God’s face to help you get in alignment with His will for your life. Be willing to go wherever He leads you. Don’t worry about failing, because if you should stumble along the way, He will not let you fall. Follow God’s lead, He will not steer you wrong. Let’s go and grow together. ADaubon

Monday Meditation

Love your enemies! Do good to them. Lend to them without expecting to be repaid. Then your reward from heaven will be very great, and you will truly be acting as children of the Most High, for he is kind to those who are unthankful and wicked. Luke 6:35 (NLT) Today’s passage challenges us to love our enemies not just with our words, but also with our actions. It is easy to be kind to those who are kind to you, the real challenge is to extend that same sincerity to a foe. When you forgive it frees you from the bondage of bitterness. Don’t let your enemies provoke you into producing ungodly character in your life. Walk in victory by showing your enemies love, knowing that God will take care of you and them. This week identify those individuals who have shown hatred or have been hostile towards you. Pray for them and show them love. Allow God to love them through you. Don’t look for them to return the favor, rather wait on God’s reward. His reward is worth the wait. Let’s go and grow together. ADaubon

Monday Meditation

“See to it that no one takes you captive through hollow and deceptive philosophy, which depends on human tradition and the elemental spiritual forces of this world rather than on Christ.” Col. 2:8 (NIV) In this text, Paul encourages the church in Colossae to remain rooted in their faith and not be led astray. In life there will always be different beliefs and practices that will attempt to entice you to participate in rituals and activities that are not rooted in God. We must be firmly established in Him, and not get entangled with anything that is not inspired by the God that we serve. As believers we must be extremely careful of what we choose to entertain. Before you indulge in anything ask yourself, is it rooted in God and established on the foundation of His principles? Keep your faith fixed on the Lord, not what’s popular at the time. Go to God for your source of peace, joy, and all that you need. As we meditate on the verse of the week, let us incorporate practices in our lives that are anchored in God. Pray regularly, meditate on the word of God and soak in His presence. Seek His face with your whole heart and abide in Him. He is Jehovah Jireh, our provider. He created you and He will sustain you. Let’s go and grow together. ADaubon

Monday Meditation

Think about all that you’ve been through in your life and praise God you are still here to tell your story. Most of us can recall the events in our life that were designed to take us out i.e., illness, broken heart, accidents, financial troubles, family conflict, mental and emotional anguish, etc. Whatever God has brought you through, you should show your gratitude by letting your story be a witness of God’s goodness. If you’re currently going through something challenging in your life, declare “I shall not die, but I will live to tell about the goodness of the Lord”. Remain anchored in the Lord and the storms of life will not drift you away. Believe that God will deliver you with such an assurance that you already declare you will have a testimony to share. Proclaim it and claim it. Let’s go and grow together. ADaubon

Monday Meditation

But seek the welfare of the city where I have sent you into exile, and pray to the Lord on its behalf, for in its welfare you will find your welfare. Jer. 29:7 (NRSV) Have you ever been sent to a place where you did not want to go? Have you found yourself in an unpleasant environment or situation? Even in these moments and places God calls us to pray. Our prayers should go beyond our desire to change our situation, but should include the welfare and improvement of where we are right now. Pray fervently for the location and the individuals that dwell within it. As we meditate on the verse of the week, remember wherever you find yourself, seek peace and goodness for you and all those around you. Trust God to deliver you in His timing. In the meantime, pray where you’re planted and watch God move. Let’s go and grow together. ADaubon
