Monday Meditation

Those who consider themselves religious and yet do not keep a tight rein on their tongues deceive themselves, and their religion is worthless. James 1:26 (NIV) As believers we should try to reflect God’s love always, especially in our dialogue. Every time we open our mouth, we should be aware of how we speak to and about others. When we interact with others it is an opportunity to build up or tear down and a chance to encourage or discourage. Even in our anger we must be careful of what we say and how we say it. Be mindful of the type of conversations we choose to entertain. Don’t allow yourself to be baited by the enemy to say something that you can’t take back. What we say is a manifestation of what is in our heart. If your words don’t resemble the love of God, it’s time to do a heart check. Surrender your heart to God completely and allow Him to uplift others through you. Make a conscious decision to speak life and love to anyone who comes across your path. As we meditate on the verse of the week, seek God’s face to help you control your tongue and be a true witness of God’s grace. Let’s go and grow together. ADaubon
