"But I do not count my life of any value to myself, if only I may finish my course and the ministry that I received from the Lord Jesus, to testify to the good news of God’s grace." Acts 20:24 (NRSV)
Why are you cast down, O my soul, and why are you disquieted within me? Hope in God; for I shall again praise him, my help and my God. Psalm 42:11 (NRSV) In this text David encourages himself in the Lord. He takes a real assessment of how he was feeling, repositions himself from a place of hopelessness to hope, then redirects his focus on God. There will be times in our life when we become discouraged or sad. Before we sink into depression, raise the banner of hope and anchor your faith in the Lord. Be honest with your feelings, then surrender those feelings to God. Allow Him to lift your head and encourage you in your innermost parts. Give God your undivided attention, no matter what you are going through. Remember, He deserves our praise, in every season of our life. Set aside the weight of your worries and worship. This week as we meditate on this verse, let us find encouragement in God. Hope is our faith in motion. Hold on to hope, with great expectation and be empowered in the midst of your praise. Let’s go and grow together. ADaubon
We also pray that you will be strengthened with all his glorious power so you will have all the endurance and patience you need. May you be filled with joy, always thanking the Father. He has enabled you to share in the inheritance that belongs to his people, who live in the light. Col. 1:11-12 (NLT) As Paul prayed for the Colossians, I pray for you today. Know that God can bring you through any situation. By His power and strength we can survive and thrive through all that comes our way. God will keep you and help you persevere. Not only will God sustain you, He will give you joy. As we meditate on the scripture for the week, consider what is eating away at your joy. What challenges your peace of mind? Once you identify those things that disturb your peace, make the necessary steps to eliminate all that weighs you down and zaps you of your strength. Focus on everything that brings you joy, is uplifting and spurs you towards your God given goals and purpose. Don’t willingly participate in anything that brings you down or holds you back, but embrace all that elevates you physically, emotionally and spiritually. Allow the power of God to rise up within you and give you the strength to move forward. Let’s go and grow together. ADaubon
He said to his disciples, “The harvest is great, but the workers are few. Matt. 9:37 (NLT) The harvest is coming! With compassion in His heart, Jesus looked out at the crowd and sees the need for more workers’ in the vineyard. We are currently in a season of great harvest. The question is, are we ready for the harvest? Are we prepared and in position? Now more than ever, God needs us to be vessels of His love and instruments of His peace. Don’t just share the good news, be an example of God’s goodness in the world. Let the love of God be so evident in your life, that it draws others to Him. Walk in the light and be the light in the world. Find confidence in knowing, God sees us individually and collectively. He is faithful to attend to all our needs and use us to attend to the needs of others. This week as we meditate on this verse, trust God to meet you right where you are. As you wait in expectation for God to move on your behalf, find ways to make a difference in the lives of others. Let’s go and grow together. ADaubon
Many sorrows come to the wicked, but unfailing love surrounds those who trust the Lord. Psalm 32:10 (NLT) We should never envy the wicked, when it appears they are doing well in spite of their evil deeds. We shouldn’t gloat over their demise either, but rather focus on the Lord and place all our hope in Him. Seek to do what is morally right at all times. Pursue God and His righteousness in all that you do and say. Pray for those who seek to do harm towards others, intercede on their behalf. As we meditate on the verse of the week, let us consider our actions and words. Let your life be an expression of your faith. Trust God and bask in His overwhelming love that engulfs you. Ask God for healing from every encounter you’ve had with those who have tried to make you suffer or treated you wrong. Ask God to remove the pain caused by hurtful experiences from those with evil intentions. Remember you are safe from the plans of the enemy, because you are covered by the unfailing love of God. Believe God to hold you and everything that concerns you in the palm of His hands. Get free and embrace this next level of your life with a new mindset. Let’s go and grow together. ADaubon
“Beloved, I do not consider that I have made it my own; but this one thing I do: forgetting what lies behind and straining forward to what lies ahead, I press on toward the goal for the prize of the heavenly call of God in Christ Jesus.” Phil. 3:13-14 (NRSV) Sometimes it seems like when you are trying to move forward, past experiences and / or behaviors, begin to plague your thoughts, causing you to doubt your purpose and call. I declare today. When those images come to your mind and begin to speak negative words that try to make you feel unworthy, talk back and say, you are no longer significant and you are certainly not greater than what lies ahead of me or who dwells within me. Don’t let your mind remain hitched on things that weigh you down or take you backwards. What’s behind you, is behind you. It is no longer in your view, except for when you look back. Don’t willingly take yourself in the opposite direction of where you should be going. This week meditate on this verse and examine everything in your past that tries to keep you bound. Know that God has set you free and has set a brighter path before you. Stay focused and forge ahead. Let’s go and grow together! ADaubon
“My presence will go with you, and I will give you rest.” Exodus 33:14 (NRSV) Moses knew that He could not accomplish anything without God. He seeks God to confirm He will accompany him on the journey ahead. In this text, God assures Moses His presence will be with him. While God will often provide others to journey with us to fulfill our purpose, remember as long as we have His presence, we have all that we need. It does not matter what challenges are ahead of you, if God is with you, you can conquer them all. With Him we can successfully complete every assignment He gives us. This week, meditate on all that God has asked you to do. Think about what or who you’ve been waiting on to get started. Perhaps God has opened a door for you and fear is holding you back. Maybe you have been focusing on your shortcomings and you’ve overlooked how His ability outweighs your inadequacies. Do you think the road ahead has too many obstacles or that your enemies are stronger? If so, have faith that God is greater than all that comes up against you. Know that God is with you, rest in Him, then proceed ahead. Let’s go and grow together. ADaubon
Stay tuned for weekly Meditation Monday posts. It is my prayer that you will reflect on the verse and inspirational writing for the week. As we marinate in the message, be encouraged and strengthened. Most importantly, don’t forget to worship. There is power in our praise. Let’s go and grow together. ADaubon
God please attend to the needs of all those who feel worn out and depleted today. Touch those who are still waiting for their dreams and hopes to manifest. Increase their patience and strengthen their weary hearts. Fill every void and make provision wherever there is lack. You know the hearts of all your children and you are aware of our desires. Align our desires with the desires of your heart. Then give us peace, as we trust you to bring it to pass. In Jesus name, Amen. ADaubon
“As a father has compassion on his children, so the LORD has compassion on those who fear him.” Psalm 103:13 Heavenly Father, bless all the fathers’ who take care of their families and are committed to their responsibilities. Continue to be the example for them on how to truly love and care for their children. Shower them with your love and train them on how to show compassion. Strengthen the bonds between fathers’ and their children. Help anyone who has been disappointed by their father to forgive them and heal them from those scars. Please touch the hearts of all those who fathers’ have passed away or who never knew their father. Please comfort them today. Thank you for being a father to the fatherless and a friend to the friendless. Thank you for this day and every day. In Jesus name, Amen. ADaubon
